New addition to my ring collection!!!

I love rings especially a statement ring. My recent love is big chunky stone rings.

I bought this amazing silver ring which has an amazing stone( I have in idea what stone is it) which changes colour depending on the light.

What I wore for ethnic day at work!! Diwali celebrations!!

Today, at work, we celebrated Diwali; or rather a pre Diwali celebration. There was dancing, singing and a lot of sweets. Generally during these celebration, we are asked to wear our ethnic best. Generally I do not wear a saree, but this time I decided to wear one. Also, there was a lot of push from my friends at work.

I decided to wear a simple yet very elegant saree with Mukesh Kamdani work. The Mukesh or Kamdani or Badla work is similar type of embroidery work. It is thin silver/golden wire embroidery. This embroidery is done mainly around Lucknow and is very commonly seen in the Lucknowi Chikankari embroidery. Both these types of embroidery when done together looks amazing.

Mukesh / Badla / Kamdani work are tiny disks/ TIKKI of silver or gold pieces that artists hand-sew meticulously throughout a garment to create an all-over shine and glitter effect. Artisans start the Mukesh / Badla / Kamdani process by flattening the metal threads used in zari work into the signature disk shape. Then, they space these metallic circles evenly throughout a garment, a technique that creates a soft shimmer that some people say looks like the luster of stars in a night sky.

Mukesh Kamdani is done by hand and it takes months to make one saree. I got this saree as a part of my wedding trousseau. My mom got this saree custom made for me from Lucknow. She knows how much I love traditional stuff!!

Since I was going to be at work, I decided to keep jewellery minimal. I wore my diamond pendent with silver earrings.

I kept the makeup also minimal, just a black winged eyeliner with MAC Twig lipstick with a little bit of NYX True Red lip gloss.

My favorite silver bangles!

I’m not a girl who likes to wear a lot of accessories, but I like to buy loads of stuff. I might wear a few on a special occasion or once in a while.

But as they say, change is inevitable. I also changed with regards to accessories and that happened when my mom gave me her silver bangles. She used to wear these bangles when she was in college, so, it does have a lot of emotional value for me!

The bangles are very wearable; they look nice with all kind of outfits (casual/formal). I have been wearing these very frequently and I’m loving it!
